Provided below is a sampling of the variety of projects that we undertake.
Garden structures are a particular interest. All are engineered to be fully constructed in our shop, knocked down, and shipped in pieces. Minimal time is spent on site for assembly. This gazebo has a roof structure that allows light to filter to below, but obstructs unwanted views from the client's home. In collaboration with Melange Interiors.
This close-up view is of a desk element of a kitchen designed to resemble an old-fashioned hardware store. Constructed of quarter-sawn white oak and uses antique hardware. Designed by The Kahn-Struction Company, Ltd.
This is a restoration of an antique back-bar from New Orleans, circa 1880's. As fortune would have it, the central mirror was of a size that we could offer the client the ability to modify the element to create a secret door and gain access to a hidden wine cellar behind the unit. The garland was missing elements that were reproduced in-house. We constructed a front-bar to match the antique. In collaboration with Morgan Truesdell Interiors.
This interpretation of a ceiling from a priory located in England. Constructed of cedar and built in subassemblies entirely in the shop, allowed installation to be a fairly simple effort. The space, made up of the Foyer, "Bridge," and Formal Living Room, each had different ceiling profiles. By covering the whole with the Cedar elements, it allowed the three rooms to become more unified esthetically. In collaboration with Vita Designs.
Entry to this Capitol Hill townhouse offered a view of the electric and gas meters, as well as a grouping of other unsightly elements. This design was launched by the Client's request for a place to hang a dog leash (the quarter column element is a door to storage behind) and a nod to the Capitol building columns. In collaboration with Leslie Rubel Interiors.
We have been published in several newspapers over the years in the home design sections. Also, one of our projects has been featured in a book. And we have had our work featured in two magazines. This magazine cover features wainscot that we crafted. An article within elaborated on our restoration of a rowhouse in Baltimore. This restoration effort also won an award from Baltimore Heritage for Excellence in Home Restoration. Designed by The Kahn-Struction Company, Ltd.
